Torchy’s Tacos celebrated another year of fulfilling their taco dreams this holiday season at ACL Live.  If you haven’t tasted the award winning salsa and dominated a fried avocado taco (my personal favorite!), then stop what you’re doing and go there immediately.  A humble and adventurous start in a food trailer on South 1st has developed into an Austin favorite.  They have already opened their doors in 10 locations with more on the way.

This party was a ‘damn good’ time (their slogan!).  Congratulations to Torchy’s and their team for a successful 2013.  All the best to you in the new year!:)

There is no doubt that that Mark and Sue Reinking are loved by their family and so many friends.  Their porch overlooking Austin’s infamous Zilker Green Belt was the perfect location for celebrating this fun, hospitable couple.
What a gorgeous group, right!?  This is Mark and Sue with all of their children (and future children).  The best part?  Definitely the Johnny Nicholas Band playing a live open air concert for the duration of the party… I mean hours.  And it NEVER got old.  If you’re looking for a fun and low-key night out, their signature ‘future blues’ sound can be heard almost every Wednesday night at the Saxon Pub on South Lamar.  …Steel guitars and all.  So good.
Happy Birthday Mark and Sue!  Blessings to you and your family.  😉

Sunday was our 6th anniversary and we finally made a family outing to the Austin Zoo!  To say Judah is really into animals is an understatement.  At 20 months old, he could name every animal in My Big Animal Book.  (He’s especially fond of the gorilla and the word “hipothmotumus”, his pronunciation.)
Unfortunately for Judah, the Austin Zoo is made up of only rescue animals, and they do not have any gorillas.  (BUT, they do have a HUSKY in a cage!)  And they did manage a few lions and that’s all a girl really needs.
They also have farm animals?
Turns out, Zac is mildly afraid of goats… which is interesting since he has been begging me to domesticate one in our back yard for 3 years.   Pigs and roosters… not what I expected, but surprises are fun I guess.
Thanks for a great day, Austin Zoo!  Our toddler was terrified but we had a blast! 🙂

On Saturday, The Busby Foundation held their annual Lonestar Crawfish Boil to benefit ALS families in central Texas.  I was honored to photograph the event and hang out with so many beautiful and inspiring people.

Volunteers and supporters from Austin felt right at home at Stubb’s BBQ, sipping on Texas Beer and chowing down on crawfish, potatoes and corn on the cobb.  University of Texas Hiesman Trophy winner Ricky Williams and NFL wide receiver Quan Cosby showed their support by participating in the live auction.  Micky and the Motorcars and Robert Earl Keen were the perfect entertainment for a warm spring evening in Austin, Texas.  The crowd was touched by the story of a family who intimately knows the struggle and difficulty of this debilitating disease.  Everyone had such a great time for a great cause.

A big thanks to The Busby Foundation for having me, and for Adeo InterActive for planning such a fun event!
